YAMATO LOGISTICS CO., LTD. ("Yamato") considers the appropriate handling and protection of customer names, postal addresses, e-mail addresses and other information that could identify specific individuals("personal information") to be their corporate responsibility to society. Based on this understanding, Yamato will implement the following policies: 1. Purpose of UseYamato will use customers' personal information only for offering improved products and services, sending customers useful information and other appropriate purposes. 2. Requesting Personal InformationEmployees of Yamato will request customers' personal information only to the extent necessary for their purposes. When making the request, they will inform customers of its purpose and give them contact details for contacting Yamato regarding their personal information. 3. Limitations on Disclosure to Third PartiesYamato will not, without due cause, make unauthorized disclosure or provide customers' personal information to third parties except Yamato Group companies, Yamato Group agents or business partners. 4. Appropriate Handling of Personal InformationYamato will regularly update customers' personal information and implement measures to prevent unauthorized access to the information, or its loss, destruction, alteration, or leakage. 5. Compliance With Outsourcing AgreementsWhere Yamato receives personal information in the course of performing outsourced work for another company, it will handle such information appropriately and use it in accordance with the terms of the relevant outsourcing agreement. 6. Monitoring of AgentsWhen the handling of personal information is outsourced to an outside agent, Yamato will require that the agent sign a contract undertaking not to leak or pass on such information, and perform appropriate monitoring of the agent. 7. Confirming and Changing Personal InformationCustomers who wish to confirm or change their personal information should click here to contact the person(s) responsible, who will respond as promptly as possible. 8. Monitoring FrameworkTo reinforce Group-wide measures for protection of personal information, Yamato has established the Information Security Committee and appointed a supervisor in each department handling personal information. Additionally, Yamato conducts ongoing personal information management training and awareness programs for employees. 9. Legal ComplianceWhen handling personal information, Yamato will ensure that employees comply with laws and regulations as well as in-house rules relating to its protection. In addition, Yamato will strive to regularly revise and improve the provisions of this policy. 10. Internet Security(1) Secure Socket LayerOn its website, Yamato protects customers' personal information by means of a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Use of browsers which are security-compatible, such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, automatically encrypts personal information such as names, addresses and telephone numbers input by customers before transmission. This prevents information transmitted from being stolen or altered even in the case of interception by a third party. Due to the nature of the Internet, Yamato is unable to fully guarantee the security of information during transmission. Customers are therefore reminded that they should also take appropriate action such as changing their password regularly and contacting Yamato immediately if they suspect unauthorized use of their personal information. (2) System ProtectionYamato's online registration system is protected from outside access by a number of verification systems and firewalls.
